History of Richfield MN

Richfield started out as a small farming community in the 1850s. It was not until 1908 when it was incorporated as a village and from 1908 until 1950, Richfield’s three trustees comprised of a president, three trustees and a clerk. On November 7, 1950 the residents voted to install its first mayor, Clarence Christian. Today, Richfield is a growing community of 35,000 residents living within seven square miles of parks, shops and neighborhoods.

Broadway Pizza – Excellent pizza selection with a nice thin crust, good cheese and fresh toppings. Service is fast and pizza is ready to go in just 20 minutes after ordering for take out.

Lyn 65 – Nice place to have drinks and sharable dishes. Unique menu and wine selection. Service is excellent. There is a full bar with an excellent collection of craft beers. They have a nice patio for diners who want to dine al fresco.

Patrick’s French Bakery & Café — Great place to have breakfast or have a cup of coffee with some dessert. Do try the tomato mozzarella sandwich and the cheesecake. Service is fast and efficient.

Fun Things to Do in Richfield MN

Richfield offers over 450 acres of parkland, 23 neighborhood parks and even a nature preserve. Wood Lake Nature Center, a 150 acre park operated by the city features wetlands, walking paths and an interpretative center. It is home to 200 different species of birds and 30 mammals.

Richfield Ice Arena – features two full-size indoor skating rinks, hockey games and figure skating and broom ball games.

Richfield Outdoor Pool – recently renovated, the swimming pool complex is home to a 50 meter competitive pool, outdoor pool and a 28 foot double water slide.
